Walter E. Cathell, Jr.Walter E. Cathell Associates was founded in August, 1956. Walter Cathell was a self-proclaimed graduate of the "University of Hard Knocks". A steam fitter by trade, he worked at the Newport News Shipyard & Drydock Co. during WWII. After the war, Walter ran Noland's Power Piping Plant in Rosslyn, VA. From 1950 - 1956 Walter worked as a plumbing & heating distributor salesman and a national sales manager for a shower manufacturer.  This experience enabled him to strike out on his own and W. E. Cathell Associates was born.

In 1968 Walter's son, Edward (Ed) Cathell, joined the agency. Ed, is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and spent five years working in the chemical processing industry before joining Cathell Associates.  During the early 1970's Walter transitioned the leadership of the company to his son. 

In 2009 Cathell Associates carried the tradition into the third generation as Greg Cathell (Ed's son) joined the team. Greg is graduate of Drexel University with a B.S. in Computer Science. Greg, came to Cathell Associates after twenty (20) years in the IT industry.

In July of 2013, Cathell & Associates began operation and continues the work of providing excellent service in representation and support of plumbing products in the Maryland, Virginia, DC and Delaware markets.
